Sup Danny, you were right.. it was hard finding stores in New York and New Jersey that carries Illusione cigars. But I did finally find one but they didn't sell any of the types you wanted except for the MK. Email me...

Hey Dion, can you suggest a cigar shop in my area that carries all your smokes? I want to try the CG4 this weekend. Smile THaNKs!

What's your stomping ground? You get out on Long Island at all? Smoke Signals out there in Port Jefferson has 'em. J Barberra carries them in Garden City. LMK.

Sadly I never get to go to Long Island (great striper fishing!). I'm located in north NJ and the Times Square area in Manhattan. Only place that carries any of your cigars is Davidoff on Madison Ave... I believe they offer only 3 types, none of which are the Epernay or ECCJ.

Dion
Just had my first Cuchillos Cubanos today, the #47, complements of Gary who runs the Delaware shops. Very nice clean tobacco flavor and smooth throughout. I know you are good friends with PJ and it reminds me a bit of some of the brown Tatuaje's but a tad milder. Very nice however and yet another fine product from you. Keep up the good work.

Had my first mj12 last night and damn!!! I'm not generally a huge fan of large ring gauges, but it was phenomenal...my new fav next to the 68. Cheers Dion.

Thanks for the heads-up, weskimad! I'll try to pass by over the weekend. Since they carry the hard-to-find Illusiones, what other brand selections do they offer? For the past couple of months, me and my friend have been hunting down and comparing various cigar shops in northern NJ with the help of Google SMS on our cell phones. If you have any other cigar shops, cigar-friendly restaurants, lounges, or bars to suggest, we can compare notes.

Hey pTr939, I stopped by shoppers vineyard today, as for Illusione, they had cg:4 ($5.75), 88, and 888 ($6.25). They weren't many cg:4 left, and I grabbed one that looked perfect (many had damaged wrappers at the foot), then picked up 3 of the 888, the entire box looked perfect. To be clear, this is not a cigar shop, but a liquor store with a well kept humidor (Pepin blue, black, Padron, RP, etc.).

As far a cigar bar or lounges, the Porterhouse in Montvale NJ is a smoking friendly old irish bar, and the upstairs in Bloomefield is a cigar bar located over titillations gogo (gogonj.com). Besides JR, those are the only places I make it to.

just ordered a box of the mj12's from newhavanacigars.com

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

Thanks for the heads-up. I went there last night, great place & super-friendly service. The prices were already cheaper than most B&Ms I've been to and the guy who helped me was nice enough to knock off another 20% per stick. He said the wine shop is not trying to make money off the limited yet great selection of cigars they carry. The owner is basically offering the type of cigars he enjoys for sale to the public. I walked out with Illusione 888 ($5.20), LFD Coronado Double Corona ($5.40), Cubao #4 ($5.20), Cubao #1 ($6.00), and Padron 3000 ($4.00)... then went to Jamie's Cigar Lounge & Bar a block away from Shopper's Vineyard. Nice restaurant but it's on the expensive side. I prefer Smoke Chophouse & Cigar Emporium in Englewood, NJ.

pTr939 will have to let us in the the 20% discount secret. Their prices have always been really good. A number of months back they had Oliva V for a really reasonable price when they were impossible to find anywhere else.

Cuchillos Cubanos 46's are the best long/medium filler cigar ever created IMHO. For all you Dion fans, give them a shot.

No clue, the gentleman that helped me just told the cashier "20%" and next thing I knew my receipt have all these deductions. No complaints here Wink

On a side note, I hit the Illusione motherload today. I tried a relaxing spot today called Ruben's Smoke Stack in Hackensack. It's a medium sized cigar store/lounge that has a broken-in charming feel to it. They offer wifi, 2 massage chairs, a cappuccino machine, a public desktop comp, well stocked walk-in humi, and the other usual amenities. They have the most extensive collection of Illusiones I've seen in a B&Ms: 88, 888, f9, cg4, 2/3 culebra, hl, mk, 1, epernay in all their sexy sizes, eccj, and more I'm sure I forgot to mention..

This weekend the owner Ruben said he's holding an event with Pete Johnson coming in and they'll be showing the Cotto-Clottey fight.
