Tie so far:

Young's Double Chocolate

Mackeson XXX Stout - this stuff is so thick you cannot pass light through it. Yum.

There's some other good stouts out there (some good micros too), so please share.

Oh, recently I tried something called Old Engine Oil or something like that... very good, poured out like molasses.

Can you get the English Mackeson Stout? I used to love that stuff, but the last case I bought was "brewed under license in Cincinnatti, Ohio" and didn't taste the same. Switched over to Dragon Stout from Jamaica.

Dittos on the Mackeson XXX....but only the English stuff, the local (US) production stuff doesn't have the same alcohol content, and definitely doesn't have the same flavor.
Same with McEwan's Scottish Ale (a real favorite).....the domestic stuff is like dishwater compared to the UK imports.

If you like the Makesons XXX....Taddy Porter Oatmeal Stout should suit your palate as well.....

When I lived in the Washington DC area, some of my favorites were Dominion Stout and Dominion Ale....made in a microbrewery in Ashburn Va (Dominion Microbrew)....if you can find it, try it....pure heaven. My wife and I used to go to the brewery almost every month for a "Tour"...I never remembered the trip home for some reason.....

I have friends up there who send me a few now and then....I wish they sold it locally....
Great Stuff,
Cool

I was just in New York in March and stopped in at a micro brewery at the base of the empire state building. If you ever go their try it. I got the sampler with 6 different types. Pretty good. Good luck.
