I can't figure it out! I used to smoke cigarettes and drink beer. I ate pizza and the closest I came to wines is maybe a couple of bottles of Nightrain Express to catch a good buzz. Cigars tasted all the same, and you could take your cigars, wine and nasty smelling cheese back home with you. I started smoking premium cigars and I just bought my first Port wine. I picked-up a bottle of Galway Pipe Port. I loved the starting "carmel" type taste and explosion of flavors and fragrences it gave me. This wine was made to enjoy with a cigar. What happened? What are your thoughts on this port? Any other sugestions?

Never seen it nor had it. Why don't you give us all your review? I like to try new ports if I know a fellow connoisseur of all things fine has given it the thumbs up.

Someone else has tried it!!! I have suggested this to many people however had never seen it mentioned. I love this stuff. Not so much when first opened, however the longer this sits the better it gets. My first bottle lasted about 6 months. The first was very thick, most flavors masked behind a compact fruit flavor, almost like a prune, with a bit of caramel as you said. As the months went by it opened up with more of a sweet fruit flavor, an a bit of chocolate flavor. I gifted a bottle of this to a friend upon his college graduation, and some remained in his bottle a year later, the port still retained some strong fruit flavors, however that chocolate note got stronger.
I admit to not knowing much about the cordials like port and sherry, however know what does taste good and knocks an edge off after dinner, and this stuff fills that void.

Australia ports are usualy very ripe and fruity. Even a 10 year old tawny will taste like a ruby port and since you like the 6 grapes and bin 27, Austrailian ports should be right up your ally. rosemont makes a tawny called old benson, is that the same port you are talking about Coriolanus??
Wknd, you should drink your port within 7-10 days after opening it as it becomes oxidized. Of course its all personal preference on how you drink your wine.
