Steve, that Aventinus Bock sounds right up my alley, I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.

When you're looking for the Aventinus, there are two different beers. One is a weizen bock- 8.2% ABV and the other is an weizen eisbock- 12%ABV. The labels are almost identical but the eisbock is in an 11.2 oz bottle and the weizen bock is in a 16 oz bottle. I think the eis bock is better (maybe because it is stronger) but it was a more raisin(?) flavor- more malty than the other. Either one is awesome and my favorite with a cigar.

I prefer the Eisbock with a cigar, as it has a more pronounced port and malt flavor and the higher alcohol level is very nice.

Hawg I am with you on the IPAs. I burned out on Yuengling. I grew up in Pottsville and drank nothing but Lager in college and after. I had one too many. I rarely pick it up now.

I will try anything that says IPA on it, it's my favorite beer. My tops are:

1) Clipper City High Seas Loose Cannon (this is my benchmark beer, I judge other IPAs by it)
2) Dogfish 60
3) Dogfish 120 (if I want dessert in a glass)
