Or a Three Floyds Oak Aged Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout, with a 4.47 rating from RB. Holy $hit this beer sounds good at 14% alcohol.
Not available in Canada though. You Americans have the best beer.
Wish I could find them - you'd think being near Boston, I'd have better luck finding a true beer store. Maybe I'll have to actually drive INTO the city............Aaaarggh!

Subchop,
I don't know how far from Boston you are, but there is a small place in downtown Nashua called Jasper's that has quite the selection of different beers that I've never heard of or seen anywhere else.

Excellent, thanks Jonesy!! I actually work in Nashua (Spit Brook Rd) and will have to check out Jaspers. BTW, did you know the new Two Guys Smoke Shop is scheduled to open on the 19th of this month?

I doubt I'm on their mailing list...what details did they provide on the postcard?

The postcard just said that the grand-opening of the shop was April 19th from 10 - 6. It didn't mention anything about any specials going on; just come in and check the new place out.
I personally have never been a big fan of Two Guys. I'll check out their new shop to see how it is, but I'll be sticking with my normal places.

I am only 25, so I love cheap beer. Yuengling is pretty inexpensive
When I was just turning of legal age, there was a generic beer. Came in a black and white can and all it said was "Beer"...now that was cheap beer!

with almost 12% alcohol, it was tell very tasty. Classic american hops, smooth going down, classic bite, but smooth finsih. Very good.
I prefer the Victory XII, sold in 25 ounce bottles. More malt than hops, which is more to my taste. Victory makes a lot of good beers. Their Storm King Stoudt & Old Horizontal Barlywine are delicious.

I will have to try those. Have you tasted the Golden Monkey?

I think I found a good beer for my smokes. Fort Collins Brewery's "Double Chocolate Stout". I had an Imperial Pint of it Sunday as I toiled over a batch of homebrew in the make. I paired it with a Victor Sinclair Triple Corojo robusto. The Spice of the 3C played well with the earthy mocha of the stout. More experimenting with bigger beers/ales and cigars is definitely in order.

I had a Sam Adams Oktoberfest in the pub a couple of months ago on the recommendation of many people. I found it quite unbelievebly sweet and sickly, not to my taste at all. (no doubt more cultural conditioning- we drink our ale warm flat and bitter, accoring to current national stereotypes)
Is this sweetness a trait in many american ales? Or is oktoberfest unusual?

It's just past the time, but my favorite is Double Bastard. It makes me happy in ways that beer shouldn't.
