I'm climbing Kilimanjaro then going to be on safari in Tanzania in June 08. Then we are going to Zanzibar for a week. Can anybody offer ideas about where to buy cubans in Tanzania/Arusha or while on safari and in Zanzibar. It will be a real hassle if I have to bring sticks in my portalble hummie. Thanks in advance for help everyone!

Cigars + altitude sickness = untimely death on a mountainside.

J/K sounds like an awesome trip, but god knows where you'll find cigars out there at the moment. Some of the bigger hotels/posher lodges maybe.

Forget about it ! No cigar culture in Kenya nor Tanzania. I don't even think there's an authorized Habanos dealer in those countries. Just in case, if you want to check it out, here is the email for the distributor for continental Africa : info@phoenicia.com.cy

My advice : bring your own or forget about cigars for your trip.

Thanks for the replies! I kind of figured that I wouldn't have much luck with cigars while on the trip.
And by the way, did64, we are not going to light up until after we summit (hopefully) and get off the mountain! Although we will try to get a shot of us with habanos on the summit to submit to CA magazine.

Go climb the Sierra Maestras.

Drop by the LCDH in Santiago first.

Quality does not occur by chance. It is the result of intelligent activities.
