Any recommendations for smoking in the Meatpacking District?...also, came across a couple of cool looking restaurant/bars-- Rayuela in lower Manhattan (mix of various Latin cuisine, though not sure whether they permit cigar smoking) and Mustang Grill in the Upper East Side which does have a Cigar Lounge--anyone been to either of these places and have the lowdown?

Hey Roy been to the Mustang Grill. Take the 4,5,6 train get off at 86th st if you decide to use mass transit. Last time i was there smoking was permitted outside. To be honest it is a nice bar, the restaurant is for show. The cheese is melted Velveeta. It seems every entree was picked up at the frozen food aisle. What ever you decide have a great time. Wink

No need to take Plexico...understand Arod and Kate Hudson were making out there the other day. Sounds like a fun place, Sheep....may have to check that out night before I hit the Yankees/Mets game at the new Stadium.

Hudson Bar & Books is right below the Meatpacking District in the West Village.
A great place with a great scotch selection.
It is quite small. Although they do have outdoor seating as well.
One of my favorite spots in NYC.

I have been to all the usuals around the city and last night I had the pleasure of taking a client to one off the beaten path. 181st and Cabrini Blvd. a place called Fumee. What a great place to have a smoke and enjoy good conversation. There is a restaurant next door that you can order from. Its the neighborhood my parents grew up in so it was great to get back and see how really nice Washington Heights is nowadays. The owner mentioned the CA had a write up on them in this months edition which I have yet to check out. Anyway... if you go.. enjoy..

If you're anywhere near mid-town try the Havana Cafe on 46th & 7th. They have wonderful Cuban food and roll their own cigars on Thursday's during happy hour.

Gregory,

Your correct, you can't smoke the cigars there. Actually, I just looked at the business card, the name of the establishment is the Havana Central.
