To me the two best foods that smell great while being cooked are popcorn and bacon. What do you think?

Beer Wort
(for those that aren't familiar with home-brewing, this is the part of the process where you cook your ingredients)....almost as good as "testing" the final product.

Smells like a Bakery next to a Brewery.
Cool

Dessert pies smell good.

If you are selling a house and are showing it. It is better to have a good pie cooking then say some ethnic garlicy lamb stew which may be delicious but may offend some.

The best is apple, strawberry, raspberry or blueberry pies.
In a pinch a black berry or rhubard pie will do.
Then again a lemon pie, or pecan pie....

Out of one, many.

Any of the "comfort class" foods, mulled cider, bread, a stew. There are a number of things like that. Personally, i want to smell a steak slathered in pepper and garlic on the grill.

Mitola, I do them on the grill at least once a month then marinate them in garlic, olive oil and oregano.

To me, there is NOTHING that smells better than Italian red meat sauce cooking slow on the stove for a day or so and getting just right for some pasta.

Close second would be the smell of anything searing on the grill.
