I eat it at least 2-3 times a week. Whether its sriracha over asian food, louisiana style, or superhot Daves insanity, I love me some hot sauce. I love it on buffalo wings when mixed with butter or on top of any kind of mexican food, I love making my own from fresh chilis or chili oil, Smothered over shrimp, mixed with a little mayo and slathered on a burger, doused on eggs, etc... you get the idea. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Today I made some cheese ravioli with alfredo sauce and then covered it with chili oil. It was awesome.

So who likes hot sauce and what is your favorite kind? What kind of food do you put it on?

I like Tabasco Sauce. Before the military put them in MRE's we always took a bottle to the field with us.

I'm never without Tabasco. It's my emergency ingredient to rescue wayward moving recipes!

I like it from time to time on certain things, but Im picky though. I dont like too much heat, it takes away from the flavor IMO. Crystal is pretty good for just a chilie flavor, but there is no heat. Tabasco is ok, Im going to try the Habanero style today on sardines(Yum). One I really like but it gets hot is Cholula, I think I spelled it right. Its got chili Pequins(Bird eye peppers for all you country folk sown south), garlic and all sorts of spices. It freaking awesome on fried easy over eggs.

That reminds me P, since your a chili freak. I have some Tabasco peppers from my dads garden that I sun dried myself. If your interested let me know. I had some sun dried Red and green Jalapenos, sorannos, and etc but I used them all up already. I love the F#ck out of Dried Ancho and Chipolte. That gives me an Idea, maybe I should make my own chipolte's this year.
Ive been wanting to make my own hotsauce for a while but just never did it. My dad makes all sorts of hotsauce and salsa from the tomatoes and peppers he grows in his garden. You would freak PMP, hes awesome when it comes to the hot sauce.

Anyone who has ever been in the Infantry has a strong affinity for hot sauce.

I put hot sauce on everything. Over the years I have gradually homed in on Cholula hot sauce. I like the flavor and am moving away from just heat. Crystal is also very good for flavor.

I douse all kinds of things in Tabasco. Cholula ias very good as well. I'm not a huge fan of Crystal, just not enough heat. One of my favorite quick snacks is toasted english muffins with melted cheddar and lots of tabasco.

Joe Perry's Boneyard Brew Rock Your World Hot Sauce. I wrote a review on it. It's here, just do a search. I'm to lazy to top it.

Maybe we should start a company that make hot sauce and call it "Grunt Sauce".

I'm with you on that Raven. The only problem is I would have a hard time taking money from grunts. Would have to donate it to them. Now as for the rest of the rear eschelon poogs they will be charged a resonable rate. Big Grin

Man I love hot sauce, whenever I go to Mexico one of my first stops is the hot sauce section of the nearest local grocery store.
I agree on Choula. Some others that I have picked up while in Mexico are "La Anita" a Habanero based sauce, "El Yucateco"makes a variety of hot sauces of which their Chipotle is my favourite, their Carribean habanero is one of the hottest
Another brand that I realy like is "Salsa Huichol" which is a Cascabel chile pepper sauce.
, It has a fantastic flavour as well as being hot.

I just had some of the Habanero Tabasco with some sardines for lunch at work. Pretty damn tasty.

Good thread guys!
I like them all - from Crystal on the "lite" side to the very hot. I lived in Mexico back in '87 and by Gawd there are some insanely hot peppers and sauces there. There is a sandwich there called a "torta ahogada" (drowned sandwich) which is dunked in hot-sauce.
Two very hot ones that haven't been mentioned here yet are the Jamaican Hot Sauce made by the Grace company, the other is called Marie Sharp's and it is from Belize. Both are smokers.

Sambal Olek. It's not a sauce, but an Indonesian paste that comes in a jar. A mixture of fermented chilies, salt and lots of garlic. I find Tabasco nothing more than mild heat and vinegar.

Does anyone here know what the hottest pepper is? Is it the habanero pepper?

Habaneros and Scotch bonnets are generally considered the hottest chilis.

Man I know my salsa picantes. Im Mexican and love Tapatio brand, El Pato, Bufalo. For Louisiana style I like Tabasco, especially the new green one. When I travel you never know when you will need a bottle of Tabasco. This Chicano loves hot food. At home I make my own salsas like salsa de avacado, green salsa made by green toamtoes, and pico de gallo, which is the kind you eat with your chips. Tomatoes, cilantro, jalapenos, onions, and lime.

Marie Sharps Habanero Hot Sauce...Fiery Hot is my fav. Found it while in Belize and have not stopped using it since.

Used the various Tabasco flavors, Tapatio, asian hot sauces etc...but Marie Sharps takes the cake.
