Even though the Holiday is on Tuesday, were planning something Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. BBQ Ribs & Chicken Sunday, Burgers and Brauts Monday and then a Smoked Turkey and Ham on the 4th with all the fixings I just got my new box of HDM Excalibur #2 Maduros for this occasion. What is everyone else cooking & smoking ??

Well, I started with littleneck clams on the grill for an appetizer (accompanied by gin and tonic AND a cigar) and followed up with a ribeye steak, corn on the cob, and sweet potato strips cooked on the grill. Great eating. More later.

I am going to a family reunion on the 4th and there is always lots of food there.

OK, here's my update. I am about to go outside and smoke a whole salmon. (AndI'll smoke a cigar while I'm doing it--I'm ambidextrous!) Guests arrive about 5:00. I'll have the grill lit and do littleneck clams with my awesome sauce for an appe-teaser. Main course is smoked brisket, brats and hot dogs for the kids. Fireworks and adult heaters to follow. Then tomorrow it's off to Texas for a week!
Happy fourth, y'all!

To Texas! Why are you in Connecticut in the first place? It does sound like you're doing some tasty grilling up there, so I won't give you too hard of a time.
