In this wonderful job of mine, I have to be in Orlando for an appointment on Thursday. Gonna sneak up and get there Wednesday night. Any good shops to visit during the morning on Thursday?

Andy: There are tons of cigar bars/stores around Orlando, but the biggest is probably:
Corona Cigar Company: 7792 W. Sand Lake Road Orlando, FL 32819 1-888-70-CIGAR
(near Universal Studios, about a mile & a half off of I4 on Sand Lake road (opposite direction from International drive), it's on the left side of the street, in a yellow colored building toward the rear of the parking area, next to Studio 52 (good high-end restaurant).
Probably the best selection of 'gars in Central Florida, pretty good prices, and a decent staff. The entire store is kept at 70/70, so it's basically a 5000 Sq Ft Humidor. They have a small bar as well with Latin Beers & Wines....and pretty good Cuban Coffee (depends on who's making it).
I think they open at 10:00AM, and are usually open until at least midnight.....some good restaurants in the area as well.
Enjoy your stay...I've got to head up to the Panhandle on Wednesday, or I'd meet you there...maybe someday... Have fun..

Thanks a ton Rbihari. You are a stand-up guy. I wish we could meet at that place you mention. I'd love to buy you a smoke or 2 for giving me such great info on this and from my Tampa trip a few weeks ago. I will DEFINITELY be checking out the Corona - and the Cuban coffee!

I believe there is also a Sosa cigar store over at Downtown Disney West Side off I-4 in Orlando if you are over that way. They have some nice cigars and have a nice of Padrons, Fuentes, as well as their own brand. They are open 10:30 to 11PM daily and are near the White Horse saloon if I remember right. Between Corona and Sosa, these are the two places I went to the most in Orlando when I lived there. Wish we had them up here, their prices were better than whats in Jax now.

Just got in from my O-town trip - I had to switch days. I went to Corona Cigar over in Doc Phillips and it is UNREAL. I could move in there! They have a massive stock and great, friendly help. Thanks again to Rhibari for the info! As I pulled up, there were about 7 Police cars outside, apparently someone robbed the jewelry store (Bay Hill Jewlers) right next door. I promise it wasn't me, but after seeing the boxes I would have liked inside Corona... it was tempting

Hi Andy; I'm just getting back from my little trip as well. I figured you might enjoy Corona. My wife calls it Disney World for Cigar-freaks (but she enjoys the Latin Beers & Cuban Coffee).
Bluesky mentioned Sosa at Downtown Disney...it's not a bad place at all if you make it back up here again, but you can get the same selection down in the greater Miami area....Macabi & Sosa are the same company. At the Disney location, they don't have anywhere near the selection that Corona has, and their prices are pretty steep (because of location...Disney property)...but the people-watching is sometimes worth the trip.
When you mentioned the Police cruisers, I thought it was just a Herf (lots of LEOs hang out there...an Orlando Police Officer told me about the place originally).
The interesting thing about Corona is, it's different every time you go in there....their turnover is phenomenal. With the tourist traffic, location(Cigars are relatively cheap in Florida) and their web site, they move a lot of 'gars. Always something new to try....and they are pretty good about keeping the harder to find vitolas in stock (except Don Carlos...but I can get those directly from Tampa Sweethearts).
Bad news is;....Corona is opening another LARGER Cigar Superstore in Heathrow soon - not very far from where I live ! (I'm about 30-45 min NW of the one you were at).....I have a feeling they will be seeing a lot of me !

Hi Piller; Yes, Corona is putting in a new store in the new shopping plaza West of I4 on Heathrow blvd (I don't know what the name of it is, it's brand new). When I went up there two weeks ago, there was already a "Corona - Coming Soon" sign up, but the windows are covered, so I couldn't see in...It's on Townpark Ave, (runs down the center of the new shopping area - it's only about four blocks long), about in the middle.
... I usually frequent a little place close to where I live (Stogies - very small, but they have a pool table, good folks, and very comfortable) but if I'm looking for something different, Corona always seems to have it in stock. I'm looking forward to it opening....At least I won't have to fight the I4 traffic to get there...I can take a couple of nice back-roads to get to the new location.

We just returned from Disney. I stopped in Sosa in Downtown Disney. It's a nice, but small shop. They had a good selection but prices were a little high. Overheard one customer exclaim - "I don't know anything about cigars so I'll just buy this." That probably sums up most of their crowd. Previous posts mentioned they were a good source of Opus X but they were out this past week.
They were nice at the store. Eventhough my son's under 18, they let him come in the humidor with me.
We also stopped in JR's on Rt. 95 on the drive home. That was very disappointing. That humodor is smaller than the one near me in NJ.

i never made it there. it was a full week (mostly very cold) of double sessions at the disney parks, visits from both grandma / nana and trying to keep the kids occupied (they are 5).
maybe next trip. i may decide to go down again in a few weeks for a show at the caribe royale
Kudos to Ol' Times . They have a second location in West Oaks mall. Their policy is to never charge more than MSRP. Comes in handy for PAM, Opus, etc...
I will be at WDW for Easter and will be bringing my own 'gars for the trip. The Sosa store has good selection, although it's small, but the prices are indicative of it being in a tourist area. It is a nice humi and they do have good cigars. Hope everyone has a good Easter.
I stopped in at Ol Times today. Until Corona opens up here in Lake Mary, I think I've found my main spot. Very friendly and the selection was great. Not too bad on the prices either.
