A wise man once said its good to eat pasta on sunday so I whipped up some spaghetti and a little home made pasta sauce I make with mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic and onions... Not a 5 star meal by any means but it fills up the belly real nice

Well, we ran from the storm and tried to empty the freezer as best we could for fear that everything would either be lost or the power would go out for an extended time and then everything in the freezer would thaw.
Made it up to the Texas Hill Country. All meals were cooked on my large Old Smokey (large BBQ pit was left behind). If we packed it, I cooked it. I usually prefer to use my large pit, so some of these meals were cooked different that normal. Everything turned out OK. The group of campers seemed to enjoys the meals.
Hope everyone else here was spared from the storms as well.
Two beers or not two beers... What was the question?

I grilled some Lamb Loin Chops last night which I had marinated over night with Olive oil, Lemon juice, Garlic, Greek Oregano, Thyme and fresh Rosemary. Also a little sea salt and pepper. Also made Tyropitas and Roasted Red Potatos with herbs. Washed it all down with an Argentine Malbec of which I can't remember. It was new to me, but oh so good.
I bought a couple of beautiful bone in ribeye's and had them cut to 1.5 inches.
seasoned well and seared on very hot grill and cooked medium. Side dish will be a batch of blue cheese whipped potatoes and balsamic carmelized pearl onions.
A good full bodied cabernet will go nice with this meal. I think I will finish it off with a Diamond Crown Maximus robusto that has been in the humi for about 4 months.
Once again weekend approaches, and it's time to think about "what's cooking".
I think that I might pick up a turkey breast and brine it for smoking. To be served with carmelized onion and mushrooms, a nice salad Caprese, cappelini tossed with basil, capers, garlic and oil. And a side of roasted butternut squash.
Tonight I think it's going to be pork cutlets with thyme and garlic on the grill. Spagetti squash, and pilaf.
Sunday is up in the air so to speak.
Andy, what's cooking in your kitchen?

Hey Dre, Chicken, shrimp (lobster if we have it), chorizo, clams or mussels, peas, roasted red bell pepper, saffron... heck, even squid ink if we have it!
I'll be posting pics on my food blog if it comes out well enough. Andy
