Anybody ever travel on SilverSea's Silver Shadow? They advertise a great cigar room. Any experience out there? I know it is "sponsored " by Davidoff but I've never been impressed with their cigars. Any feedback? Smile

Haven't been on that cruise line. Have been on Radison Seven Seas Navigator and they had a VERY nice cigar lounge.

Was on Silver Shadow 2 years ago. Classy ship. Separate cigar room about 750 sq. ft. Walk in humidor with good selection of Cuban cigars at decent prices. I smoked there almost every night on my cruise. Go for it.

I have cruised for the past 15 years, but not on Silversea.

Celebrety used to have cigar lounges called Michaels Club, but they discontinued them because of lack of interest. I would only see one or two people in the lounge every evening and no one was buying their very overpriced cigars.

Royal Caribbean turns the library into a cigar lounge at 9:00 and sells cigars, but the selection is limited. They mostly want to sell you booze and chocalate dipped strawberrys.

Holland America Lines does not have a cigar bar but you can smoke out on the pool deck at the pool bar and the roof can be closed if it is raining. They sell some cigars but they too have a very limited selection.

Carnival has no cigar bar and they now have some ships that prohibit smoking at all.

I just got off the Norwegian Spirit. They had a cigar room. Pretty decent, leather chairs and such, but I smoked my cigars in the sun on the top deck with a bucket of beers.

I cruised on the Carnival Destiny last Feb. and they had a great cigar bar. They had live music every night. I also picked up some great cigars in Aruba at the LCDH.

I cruised Norwiegen(sp) this summa to Alaska and they had a cigar room full o' leather with a bar and hot chicks serving drinks. I brought my own cigars, which I always do regardless of where I go in the world, so I can't remember prices.
I do remember feeling quite content sippin' single malt scotch and smokin' in very comfortable surroundings.

My wife and I are cruising abord the Spirit next week, and are looking forward to spending some time in their cigar room. Most of the other lines that I have been on have done away with their cigar rooms Frown .

I've sailed twice with Carnival on Holiday & Elation. It is true that some of their sailings are 100% smoke free, but these are well indicated so it is unlikely that you will ever accidentally sail on one. Their cigar selection onboard is a joke IMHO. N/C sticks only, and a very poor, overpriced selection at that. The guys working the cigar counter (in the duty free area) are usually quite knowledgable and can give you good suggestions as to where to buy in ports. Also if you make friendly with them they can often give you special prices/samplers. Although there is not a specific cigar room, cigar smoking is generally not restricted. I recommend bringing your own from smokes home, or buying on shore. Just be sure you buy from a reputable place and not the guys offering all those glass top boxes on the street.

Madam... if you were my wife, I would drink it!
