Ok here's the deal,
tomorrow I'm getting a fifth of some alcohol. Not being a real well versed drinker I'm at a bit of a loss. I was either thinking Jack Daniels or Stock Julia Grappa. Any reccomendations on either or a different suggestion? It needs to be on the cheaper side of things...

I'll probly just being drinking it straight, or on the rocks. Sometimes with a cigar or bowl of pipe tobacco other times not. I hear grappa is good in espresso though, which sounds like a lot of fun. Oh yeah, I can't try anything out before hand either, so that's out of the question.

Kentb29,

As far as bourbon goes I like Old Forester. It is not expensive and has a good taste. I like it because of the price and it is not to sweet tasting. It is America's first bottled bourbon.

Please be more specific. Is it going on the rocks or in A mix drink?

As far as Price goes..

Old Forrester, Old Crow, Jim Beam White label

As far as mid quality...

Jim Beam Black label, Jack Daniels Black Label, Knob Creek, Wild Turkey

Best Quality for the buck and be prepared to pay..

Jack Daniels Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Reserve Limited

but for mixed drinks, the cheaper bourbons are just fine and none are bad drinkers at all

I think we need some more specifics here. Thousands of varieties of alcohol come in 750ml bottles. In order to give some advice, we need some more info. Otherwise, go to the grocery store and buy a bottle of something you've heard of before. If you've never really drank before and are going to drink it neat or on the rocks, you'll probably hate it anyway so it won't matter what it is. Wink Big Grin
