Quick question for all of you in NYC. Can you still smoke in public places, or did it get banned. I have been living in Tokyo for the past 3 years, and I am sure alot has changed. I am coming home soon, and want to know how much tabacco I should bring.

Thanks

Banned completely, except at the few remaining cigar bars. But it is always welcome at my house. Big tv,surround sound, and no cover charge.

To quote the great Groucho Marx when he was asked by his wife to quit smoking cigars at home: "No,but we can remain good friends."

It depends on what you mean by a public place.

You can still smoke out in Central Park, but not Bryant Park.

I used to smoke at Gramercy Park when Mayor Guillani lived in Gracie Mansion, but now that Mayor Bloomburg is in office I think he would be offended if I smoked in his back yard.

Doc ***** Tobacco is a filthy weed, I like it...

Wow, that is something I never thought about, Bryant Park. It is small indeed. But if I were to light up and walk through Bryant Park, I would be introducing myself to trouble?

Madness!

It's a shame I can afford a cigar bar, once in a Blue Moon.
