So I turn 21 this upcoming Thursday and was wondering if any of you guys drink wine while smoking, and if so, what kind. I'm already picking up a bottle of rum because I know I like that pairing, but I never hear a whole lot about wine and cigars. Any ideas on champagne or sparkling wine would be appreciated too.

Any ideas on champagne or sparkling wine would be appreciated too.
Try Moscato with more of a milder cigar. It's a really clean and crisp wine with a decent amount of sweetness. I'm usually not a big fan of white wines, but this is one of the few that I really enjoy.

in one sense, Vision is correct about the tannins...picking a wine to go with a cigar can be a bit tricky...staying away from very dry wines seems to be the general rule of thumb...lighter wines with some sweetness help....whites can be good...a nice white reisling with hints of citrus or apple pair well with a medium clean flavor cigar..usually a natural wrapper for white wines.
Port seems to be the absolute best pairing with cigars...I love port with a good maduro...one of the best pairings I ever had was a Rocky Patel Old World Reserve maduro...with the port (or very good coffee) these under tones of coffee and leather come out. Nice and smooth.
Another was a Trinidad maduro or a Nat Sherman Omerta with some port.
Any maduro should pair well with port.
Stay away from flavored cigars and wines ..blech..nasty
if you have a fav cigar, then stay with your fav and just go through the wines until you find the right one...if you have the wine already, stick with it until you fiond the cigar...either way, there is a lot of good quiet enjoyment in your future.
