I am a college student who will be studying in Italy for two months during the summer. Naturally, I'd like to take this oppurtunity to sample as many cuban cigars as I can. Could anyone recommend some good cigar shops in Rome, Florence, Verona, or Venice.
Thanks

There is a shop on the north side of the Piazza della Reppublica in Firenze that MIGHT have decent cigars. Generally speaking, not much in the way of cigars in Italy.

I was amazed the first time I went to Italy that I couldn't find a decent Cigar. I searched in Rome, Naples, Venice and Firenze without luck. In fact, while the Italians(particularly in Rome and Naples) smoke a LOT of cigarettes, they are amused when you ask about cigars.
The thing to do is fly in by way of Frankfort and buy cubans duty free, pack them into a tupperdor and take the stash with you. I got a great deal on Romeo Cedros last time i did this. Depending on the selection you could buy tubos too. I have found great cigars in reasonable condition -- the walk-in humidor seems to have the door open a lot -- in Frankfort terminal. I suspect the same is true in Heathrow, London. I did not see good cuban in Geneva airport when I flew Swiss-air.

I really don't have the option of traveling outside Italy as I'm on a tight budget and schedule, but I'll try to find the LCDH in Rome. Since I'm connecting in Heathrow anyway I'll look into picking up some cigars on the way.
Thanks for the advice.
