Ummm.....I'm afraid that most of the "pre-embargo Cubans" you will find in Vegas will fall into the same category as all the $50 Rolex watches and Elvis' (Elvii?) you will see in Lost Wages.

Seriously...there are many good cigar venues in 'Vegas.....try Napoleon's at the Paris Casino, or Casa Fuente in the Caesar's Palace complex.

I've been to Napoleons personally (very nice atmosphere...but Vegas prices), and Casa Fuente opened recently...you can supposedly get most of the rare Fuentes, and specially made Fuentes there.

Most "Pre-Embargo" Cubans have very little, or no real Cuban tobacco in them.....and even if they were 100% legit, unless they have been kept in ideal conditions over the last 35+ years (highly unlikely), you might as well smoke a Phillie's Blunt.

BTW...Welcome to the forum, and enjoy your trip.

I think your best bet is going to be to ask around at the more reputable cigar shops. If there are real "pre-embargo cigars" they are the people that are going to know where to get em. enjoy your trip, dont be stupid and waiste your $ on cigars you dont know to much about. Research first, due to contrary belief some pre-castro cigars are past their prime. Not all cigars benifit from aging. Good luck and welcome to the boards

What you're looking for is the Collosseum shop at Caesar's Palace.

Try the cigar shop in the MGM Grand. Good selection and reasonable prices. I was all over Vegas in June looking for shops and most on the strip were nothing to write home about..........have a great time !!!

I have heard of these so called "pre-embargo" Cubans, but never fell for them. The embargo with Cuba began in 1962. (if memory servers, anyway) Now aged tobacco is one thing, but aged 43 years? I doubt it.

I’m sure any tobacco or cigars imported from Cuba would have been used up by 1970 or so. The way I figure there were plenty of cigar smokers back then for the demand to have used up all remaining supplies at the time.

I’ve also heard the urban legend about the cigar manufacturer who mistakenly stored some pre embargo Cuban tobacco and didn’t find it until 40 years later and I believe that’s a line of total crap. If that were true I’m sure it would have been discovered and used up in the 1980’s cigar boom when he would have profited the most.

Bottom line there is no pre-embargo Cuban cigar in existence.

Just my humble opinion.
