With summer upon us a great place to smoke for all visitors to, and residents of, San Diego is the Hard Rock Hotel--next to the Gaslamp street sign on 5th Avenue and within close proximity to the Convention Center. The 4th floor rooftop bar is very cigar friendly and attracts a very good looking, hip crowd. In particular, Intervention Sunday has become quite the popular spot to be on Sundays with scantily clad hard bodies and the ever popular Dancing Nurses--ladies in bikins who dance above the cabanas are a crowd favorite. Hope to see you soon and I'll buy a beer--I'm the gentleman who always wears a Yankee baseball cap.

San Diego is a great town. I have four buddies that went down there for college and stayed down there, I'm lucky if I get down there once a year. The Hard Rock sounds great.

I sent an email to the Hard Rock San Diego a few days ago about hosting a social event in one of their banquet rooms or even renting a bar for the evening but got no response. I'm pretty bummed, especially because of how much I like the hotel.

Not sure if the Hotel handles that or if the Gerber Group--which manages the bars at the hotel--handles such requests. My suggestion would be for you to call the hotel, ask for the concierge, and get the local number for Gerber. If you do this and still have problems, let me know--I know the manager for all the bars and run into him on weekends at my local health club.

P.S....if anyone knows how to attach a picture to a post, please advise....Copy and paste would be my preferred method, but that has not worked for me....I also do not want to redirect to a web site link....if someone can help me, I'll post a pic of The Dancing Nurses (no worries--PG 13 rated).

I think the only way on this board is to post a link, I'm not sure that the copy paste method works.

BTW, I got an e-mail today from the hotel about the event. Thanks for the help though, and I'll keep my eye out for you!

You can ask for Jess (Sales & Event Planning) if the hotel manages the room you are looking to book or grass area of the 4th floor pool level...if you are looking to book a bar area, ask for Craig (Gerber Bars Manager)....both are good people and workout at Fit Athletic Club in East Village.
