For some reason, I have started to relate good reds with Australia. "Little Boomey"&"Yellowtail" both have some fine Merlots. I drank a Shiraz called "Fat Bastard" that was also excellent...all within a resonable price range. I hope that helps

Hey Sox, that Provenance is one super bottle of wine, way to go. Here are some I like:
Alamos (Malbec) from Catena Wines - Argentina The Alamos line of wines - especially the Malbec is exquisite! So many of other Malbecs are musty and too over the top. This Malbec is superb!
Zenato All I have tried thus far is their Valpolicella, but it is sensational!
Vini BIGI Large-scale production wines from Orvieto, but available in the US, their Sangiovese - Umbria is a delight.
DeLoach Vineyards A vineyard that never disappoints. Can be pricey, but a go-to red when you want something special - in particular the "Los Amigos Ranch" Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tommasi Wines You can find these in the newer Publix Supermarkets in Florida and there isn't one that isn't a hit. Both Valpolicellas they offer are fantastic.
