I do love me some ice cream! Everytime I pass a store that advertises home made ice cream on the premises, I break my neck in a whiplash fashion. I even got an ice cream maker in the freezer ready for churning in case I'm too lazy to go to the groceries. I prefer smooth and creamy like Hagen Daaz over super-chunky Ben & Jerry's hippie concoctions. Just more ice cream per overpowering crap ratio. LOL it seriously is my favorite cuisine. Fave flavor is dark chocolate.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points." -Don Pepin Garcia

In Ohio we're blessed with two great ice cream producers; Graeter's and Jeni's. My personal favorite right now is Jeni's Queen City Cayanne, or Berries and Burgundy...

Most people don't know that there is an entirely separate world of ice cream outside of the factory-produced, boxed varieties found in supermarkets. Ice cream at its best is served the day it is made and has next to no shelf life due to the lack of preservatives and other additives. It is becoming a lost art, but a few places are bringing back the artisanship of it by using local creameries as their purveyors. Like gelato, if it isn't house made with high-quality ingredients and served the same day, it is no better than something you buy at the supermarket. Too many restaurants serve factory ice-cream/gelato.
Since they knocked down the two dairies around here that made their own ice cream, I go for Ben & Jerry's Fudge Brownie. But you can't do better than a home made fresh from the dairy chocolate malt.
