Last time I had one in Miami was at a little place near the Old Holiday Inn in South Beach. They put mustard on the thing and totally ruined it. Believe it or not, the chain Panera Bread used to have a cuban pork on their menu which was pretty darn good. Haven't had one in a while, but boy do I like them.
I will be in the Oldsmar/Tampa area for a few weeks. Ybor City is on my list to visit. What is the best place to get a good Cuban sandwich and some real Cuban coffee?

Outside of Cuba the best Cuban sandwich i ever had was outside of Fenway park at a Boston Red Sox game quite a few years back. The sandwich was good indeed but for me what made it better was Bo Sox legend "El Tiante". Luis Tiant was both making and selling them.We spoke ate took pictures and he signed autographs.

Originally posted by QM: The only thing I know is that pork sandwich and glass of orange juice from that Havana street corner counter that A'o stops at. It's good.
That place is called Paco-Mer...and it is a breaded pork cutlet on a hunk of bread, and it's a BATIDO made with Guayaba or Mamey...awesome. The equivalent of a whole dollar (20 Cuban pesos for the sandwich, and 5 Cuban pesos for the batido, and you need to change your money into Cuban pesos before you go)!! On the corner of Infanta and Neptuno...
One if the best sandwich places in Cuba is PAN.COM and they are a late-night eatery...their "SuperPan" or "Panzone" are both excellent. There's one across the street from El Ajibe, one of the finest dining places in Cuba (that is reasonably priced and casual, anyway...a must for any tourist). There's also one in Vedado, and another in Boca Ciega by Guanabo...
But here's a winner: perhaps the best Cuban sandwich is at the AIRPORT in CANCUN!!! There's a little cafeteria near the international departure security check point, and it's a sandwich with pork and chicken, avocado, peppers, the works...it's really, really incredible, and during the "Special Period" in Cuba in the mid-1990's, it was probably the last good meal one could get until they came back from Cuba. But the cafeteria is still there, and the Sandwich Cubano is still on the menu (although they charge $10 or so for it these days).
In Cuba...definitely check out Paco-Mer, if you have the guts to belly up to the counter. BE CAREFUL WITH WALLETS AND BACKPACKS there...they will be swiped.

I live in Ga, but I was born and raised in Tampa/Brandon. While Tampa has some wounderful little Cuban restataunts, Miami is definately better. As far as Fl goes though, Ybor City (Part of Tampa) is the second Best for Cuban food. There are also a few cigar factories in Tampa I want to visit, but I don't get down that way more than a few times a year.
Thanks for the tip! I have visited their website, and it seems pretty nice! Have you smoked their cigars? If so, how are they? I am fairly new to cigars, and Im now wishing I had visited some of the factories while I lived down there.
To answer Cohibachristo's question, I would have to reccomend Carmine's, La Teresita's, and Hugo's. There are other good places, but I can't recall the names at the moment.
