for those that did not know already, Glenmorangie discontinued their specialty casks this year...

the Port wood, Sherry wood, Burgundy wood and Madera wood have all been discontinued, and replaced by the Quinta Ruban (ex-port cask) , Lasanta (ex-Sherry cask) and Nectar D'or (ex-Sauterne casks)..

I finally got to try one of the new casks this week-end.. it was the Quinta Ruban..

although normally I'm not a big fan of Port wood finished scotches, this one was very good... smooth and velvety.. long finish, with a very delicate nose....

Highly recommended.....

I had it with a splash of water in it, and paired it with a Hoyo Petit Robusto, followed by a Bolivar Colossales..

This saddens me and will make me buy an extra bottle of the portwood and sherrywood.
