Had a quick search and whilst there is alot of chat about Jack Daniels I cant seem to find any recommendations of a good cigar that really compliments it.

I am pretty new to cigars but am a Jack Daniels obsessive so any advice on the way to go would be appreciated.

Any other JD Tennesee Squires here?

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, Jack. Beeen to the distillery so many times, I get invites to the company picnic every year.

I gotta say, when it went from 90° to 86°, it was OK. Now at 80°, it's flavor has been compromised too much.

As for cigars, Monte 2, PSD4, OPUS X, or Ashton VSG are the one's I've found that go well with Jack.

Something strong. Doesn't have to be subtle. JD can be pleasant, but it's not an extremely complex whiskey.
Cuban : Jose L. Piedra, Quintero or Statos de Luxe.
Non-Cubans : Camacho, Te Amo or Gloria Cubana.

I'd rather have a Maker's Mark with an Upmann Magnum 46 or Punch Churchill... But, hey, that's just me.

Just got onto the Jose L Piedra conservas - what a great cigar at a pretty good price.
Recommended by a friend and it smoked up pretty well with a few glasses of Gentlemn Jack.

Have been thinking about trying one of the OPUS X series nxt.

A life long dream is to get to the distillery-got as close as New Orleans abot 15years ago but its a bloody long way from South Australia which is the last stop before the Antarctic...kind of down under down under. Ever been to one of the JD BBQ comps at the distillery Wacco?

I have a down under question. I have heard of some Tasmanian single Malta and found a couple on the web. Do you have any experience with them there?

Bourbon is one of my favorite cool weather drinks and Jack (actually I prefer Gentleman Jack) goes great with an Opus Robusto or anything with a little oomph to it.

I don’t have a lot of experience with single malt whisky's Tasmanian or other ( I need educating) but a friend of mine loves it (he put me onto the attached site - gives you a bit more info). However the Tasmanian beer is without a doubt the very best I have ever tasted. My beer of choice is Boags Premium but the Cascade lager is also excellent – If you can get a case in I highly recommend you do so.

Gday Doc - my Humi is going beautifully and I actually have an Opus Robusto that came with a sample selection of Robustos I got when I was setting it up.

I get alot of floral and fruit (mainly banana) from JD. I would sugest something more light bodied to complement the whisky. A cigar that is to cedary or peppery will kill the JD. try a more entry level cigar like the macanudo robust or a Don Tomas.

Camachos go well with Mr. Daniels..........

The best match that I found so far was the La Gloria Cubana Series R. I lit up a RP Vintage 1992 last night with my Jack and it wasn't half bad either. I'll have to try the Fuente Opus X combo after my new Fuente's have some time to settle in the Humi.

Sounds like what I expected - personal preferences- I have got some tasting to do.

I have been giving the Jose Piedra Cazadores a go and for the price I am pretty impressed. They have a fairly easy draw, medium bodied with a nice aroma.

Has any one tried the Opus X Fuente Fuente? the one on the Top 25 is a double corona (please excuse my ignorance) but is this the same smoke if its in a different size as I have been looking at the Opus X Fuente Fuente in a ring gauge 46 length 140 size.
