anyone pick this up? Sweet Lord is this an amazing resource. I have been going through the daunting task for sampling as many single malts as possible. . .someone suggested this book as a good resource and it is amazing. Jackson rates over 1000 single malts in this book as well as outlines great scotch info in the opening of hte book. Each review is detailed (color, nose, palate, finish) and he rates each one on a 100 pt scale. amazing resource to help you focus your single malt sctoch.

in fact, I think its really going to help to find perfect scotch cigar parings. the reviews are so detailed you almost know which cigar would compliment that drink right away.

everyone should go to amazon/B&N or wherever and buy this book ASAP. simply a must for any single malt guy. . .just don't get the book sent to your office, because once you open it, you'll ignore all work for the rest of the day.

It is a great reference. I use it all the time.

I love when I'm in a shop browsing the single malts and they have MJ's Guide hanging on a chain in the aisle for customer use.

he also has the same stlye of book for beer as well....

james, his beer stuff is great too, that's how i was first introduced to MJ.


As for single malts. the most interesting hting in the recent editions is how many more single malts will be ocming to market in the future. there are already something like 25 new distillers set up over the past 10 years. . .and obviously that single malt will soon start to make it to market.

finished off the Pats game with Lagavulin 16 and BBF awesome. I drank a glass before the smoke to fully appreciate it, than enjoyed a glass with the smoke.
