Why haven't I heard of most of these? Maybe some are regional beers??? But then, we don't have winter here.

Almost forgot about Smithwicks! A great beer.
Tilted Kilt is a local (Washington State) brew and I believe Swan's or Swannies (Whatever its called) is bottled in Canada.

all good - though I'll take Smith or Rogue Choc. Stout over Brooklyn - thought they both contain actual choc. where Brooklyn does not I think. Also - Allagash double or triple are both great - the four is not as good.

not much ot adds to the great lists so far, but when I'm not drinking Guinness. . .

Boddingtons (actually one of my favorite beers with a cigar due ot its light honey flavors, never overpowers a cigars, but still strong enough to taste after a pull on the cigar. . .naturally, perfect with a Cohiba).

and i know Sam Adams is a big beer but how can you not mention that? Their octoberfest is phenominal, Lager is a staple to any menu. . .their brewmaster's edition Black Lager is also outstanding, although I can't imagine it will stay on the market too long as it is similar ot the regular lager but with deeper flavors, but for most most consumers too much of an overlap in taste. i pretty much drink the whole line of SA.

If you are in the Greater Boston area you can add Buzzard Bay Brewery and any of the beers they make to the list. A microbrew out of Westport, MA that is top notch, they have a pale ale that is outstanding.
