The last time I was in the big apple was the summer of 2001. I always enjoyed Club Macanudo, is it still open? Where else can one go to enjoy a good cigar and a good drink?

You might try the search function and see what turns up.

Club Macanudo is still open and I always try to work in a visit when I am in NYC. In fact, you've got a great dining option a few doors down at The Post House.

There are several excellent cigar bars in NYC, all of which are my favorites. Club Mac seems to be the most popular, and the eye candy is spectacular. It's crowded, though, and expensive, even by NYC cigar bar standards.

Lexington Bar and Books is probably the best bar of any kind in the entire world. It's quiet, dark, hidden, and gorgeous - like you picture a speakeasy would be from back in the day.

The Carnegie Club is great. It's like a grand nightclub from the 30's. Very big space, and a lot of fun.

Couple things to remember: you must buy a cigar in order to smoke. You can bring your own, of course, but you have to buy one anyway. Also, they do have a dress code. No jeans, no sneakers, jacket preferred.

I was recently in NYC and took in the carnegie club with the GF, really cool place, you do have to buy a stick as scotty said, but bring one or two of your own depending on how much you plan on smoking because they have absurd mark ups(a 3 dollar stick will run you close to 15 bucks, a PAM 30 bucks). The Sinatra tribute on saturdays nights is a really cool show to take in, its a bit pricey but the cocktails and atmosphere are top notch....try the churchill cocktail, and/or a carnegie cocktail while youre there.

Come again? You know I don't speak Spanish. In English, please. What? You pooped in the refrigerator? And you ate the whole... wheel of cheese? How'd you do that? I'm not even mad, that's amazing.

I'll be back out in Manhattan at the end of next week, and will make my customary stop in Whippany NJ, JR's corporate store = awesome, then I think I'll stop by club mac.

Yeah. I'm a little worried. When there's no work, and the
people get restless, who do you think they come after?... El Presidente!

I went to the Carnegie Club, last Friday from 12am to 1:30, along with three other friends. The club was rather empty when we arrived and even more so when we left, I wasn't surprised though as I figured it wasn't much of a late night hotspot. The decor was very nice with leather couches and chairs that were set up in a manner for comfortable conversation with small groups of people. Besides the appearance I was extremely disappointed. The ventilation inside was awful, and with only a quarter of the bar occupied with people half of which were smoking cigars the other half cigarettes, the entire place was smoky. The small portable oscillating fans in the corners did little to move the smoke. I know it was late but there was only one waitress serving the entire bar while we were there, it took 15 minutes after we placed an order for our cigars, for them to arrive. The list of cigars from which to choose was quite limited, there were at most 10 on the menu. I expected to be able to have my pick from a few premium sticks to smoke, instead the only above average cigar was a pardon 64 for $28. The rest of the cigars were your everyday smokes, Padron 3000, 6000, Ashton aged maduro (which they were out of), Macanudo, etc. The Padron 3000 was listed at $15, normally a $5 stick at a B&M, I bought one elsewhere in Manhattan at a shop for $6, all of the cigars were priced at least 3x the MSRP. I’m not sure how much drinks cost because I no longer drink. Despite the poor service, smokey air, overpriced and small selection of cigars, I will probably end up going back as there just aren’t many places to smoke in Midtown that aren’t too crowded.

I guess I'll give them a try soon, I'll be back in the city in May.
