On May 15/2009 my wife, son, friend and myself intend to travel to Fairfield,Oh.to have a look at Jungle Jim's International Market.Has anybody ever been there and what it looks like it?We've seen this store on TV a few weeks ago in a program about food on the CBC-Network and figured to check this place out due to its sheer size of 6 acres.

Looks like fun: http://www.junglejims.com/
12,000 domestic and imported beers.
A bit far for me to travel however.

Well it is a 8 hour trip(shorter if the Statetroopers don't interfere)and also a change of scenery.I checked the place out on the internet and found out that they have a Cigar-shop and Liqueur-store inside.

It's a super cool place. They have food from pretty much any country/region. You can even get exotic Asian fruit (Durian? smells like road kill). Definitely worth checking out. I remember not being overly impressed by the alcohol selection (but I lived near a great liquor store in KY). I wasn't a cigar smoker when I went, so I couldn't tell you about their humi. Have fun and be sure to stock up on some authentic ethnic goodies.

Hope I'm not to late, but the place is amazing. great meat selection, and amazing beer options. Dunno if it'd be my first stop for cigars (rather the Wharf up the road in Dayton), but well worth the trip if you're in the area.

JacktheRabbit! Thanks for your post,we'll be going next week down there. If I can't find anything decent at Jungle Jim's I can manage to stop by at Wharf's in Dayton.I found in the Internet also another shop in Dayton but when I tried to open their web a viruswarning poped up,so i'll be jotting down the adress and get the map as well as for my GPS.

Yeah, seriously do stop there. The Wharf is a far better selection and store. They've got some rare stuff you'd have a hard time finding elsewhere. Jungle Jim is amazing for rare food (kangaroo anyone? how about Alligator? They've got 'em) and good beer and wine selection, but I'd skip the cigars...

Make sure you use the bathroom over by the wine section. Pretty cool.

Jungle Jim's is a pretty fun place to shop for specialty food items - the cigar selection is above average but not killer. The bathrooms are indeed the coolest thing.

The Wharf in Dayton has an great cigar selection but is a bit on the pricey side. If you are going through Dayton try Arrow Wine & Spirits. It is primarily a booze store but their cigar selection isn't half bad and the prices are incredible. Obviously they don't know how much they can charge for stuff - I just got 3 OpusX Robusto Tins for $44 each and found 6 Oliva V Maduros for $8 each Eek
