i was never a Margarita guy, until last weekend. my uncle and i built a real nice brick and slate BBQ enclosure in his yard. and he bought 2 frozen drink machines and a real nice stainless refrigerator. we BBQ all weekend, and made a boat load of frozen drinks! i spiked them with plenty of 1800, and they are damn good!
Charloods, charloods, charloods ... what are we gonna do with you, buddy?? 1800 surely makes wonderful margaritas, but to make them into a slushy?? Sacrilege. Do this, okay? Three parts 1800, 2 parts Cointreau, 1 part fresh-squeezed lime juice in a shaker with ice ... shake and pour into a salted-rim glass. Maybe add two or three ice cubes.
Never, never, ever a slushy.

I have to agree with Jack on this one.....a Margarita Slurpee just doesn't do it......
I substitute Gran Mariner for Cointreau myself (personal taste)....a good heavy salt crust on the rim, and just a few cubes....sit by the pool....Ahhhhh....
Only problem with 'ritas is that they make cigars taste funky.....actually, I find that citrus-based drinks don't go well with cigars... JMHO....your mileage may vary.

yea i must be a pansy waist also, i love a frozen margarita on a hot day out by the pool, or as it seems mostly when we're on vacation...it's one of those drinks that most everyone enjoys, esp. the wives

I've been to two parties recently where frozen margaritas were served. Ordinarily I don't even drink margaritas because they're too sweet for me. But these were great!

Have you guys tried any of the Cabo Wabo tequilas? I keep hearing good things. When my bottle of 1800 is dry I am probably going to do some "research".

The Cabo Wabo tequilas are pretty good. Seem to be made specifically for making margaritas. In that I mean that they don't taste great straight up. But then again, who really shoots tequila anymore? Not me!!

man i love the cabo wabo! much better than the 1800. Last year i bought a bottle for my buddies birthdays and we went camping and had no limes so we used blackberries. It still tasted delicious.
Brendan i think shooting tequila is still as big as ever.
