Americans are prohibited from visiting Cuba by the US government, not the government of Cuba. In fact, Cubans love it when Americans violate the embargo.

Just get yourself to Canada or Mexico and fly down to Havana.

Pooh, You can't get Cuban Cigars at Gitmo. Go to St Maartens, La Casa del Habano on either the French or Dutch side. Enjoy!

Pooh: go to Habanos S.A. com where you will find listings of franchisees which sell genuine Habanos around the world.
Closer to the "mainland" are Mexico and Canada. From Brooklyn nearby(250 miles)are stores in Montreal and Toronto--you may expect to have your wallet violated and emptied in Canada. The taxes are horrific.
