Can't forget pacifico. Its made in mazatlan. That is about all you will see in bars down there. It is necessary on a hot day in mazatlan too!

Haven't had Pacifico but I can vouch for Dos Equis and Negro Modelo both are better than Corona.

Saul have you been able to find some Murphy's or Wexfords.

Never heard of 'em. Spaten (I forget the last name) is a really good dark beer, too. Just had one last night.

Around the time you were moving I asked if I could send you some in another thread. Let me know and I'll get some packaged up for you. Would like to get a start on making a good name for myself here so I can get in on some box passes when I get home.

It's Spaten Optimator, btw.

S-Rage, I really appreciate your offer but have two suggestions:

1. I've been on the "receiving end" for the past two months and want to get it together and start sending some stuff out myself. Time to live "it's better to give than to receive."

2. I think the smokes would be even more meaningful to the guys over there. Never got around to sending over a shipment as planned. Why don't you give them what you would've sent?

3. On the other hand, I realize that there is a good feeling to giving a gift, especially if it's unsolicited, which I'm not trying to spoil. I'll send you my address by e-mail, but keep the above in mind.

Hope all is going well for you there. Unlike many of my correspondents, my opinion of whether or not we should be over there changes from time to time. But above that is the fact that you and the others are there, risking your lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms inherent in living here. Thank you for being there for us.

When are you coming back? You live in the Carolina's, don't you?

Someone has to be the catcher. Think of it as a house warming gift. I've received plenty of great things while I have been here from people that only know my name.

2. I think the smokes would be even more meaningful to the guys over there. Never got around to sending over a shipment as planned. Why don't you give them what you would've sent?

I was going to send you some Murphy's Irish Stout and Wexfords Irish Creme Ale. I wish we could have some of this sent to us here but no alchohol allowed in this country.

3. On the other hand, I realize that there is a good feeling to giving a gift, especially if it's unsolicited, which I'm not trying to spoil. I'll send you my address by e-mail, but keep the above in mind.

Let me know what you think about it. Its as close as I can get to a cold beer right now.

I can understand why peoples opinions change on this subject. Its hard to support the war when all you hear about is the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines that are dieing over here. I'm sure opinions would change if the news covered all the positive things we are doing over here, but that doesn't make for good news.

When are you coming back? You live in the Carolina's, don't you?
I should be back sometime in late Sept

not to change thread, but BBC tends to be more balanced than our media...great article on Kurds and how they are flourishing...there are also several other article on Iraqis in bagdad and how life is slowly improving
