Dear Friends;
I just recieved a bottle of 1792 Ridgemont Reserve Bourbon, Barrel Select? Has anyone ever tried this spirit? I like to think that I'm pretty knowledgeable about Burbon-but I've never come across this one.

Hey Sloburn,

I tried some 1792 Ridgemont not too long ago at a bourbon bar. If I'm remembering correctly it has a pretty good nose on it, lots of vanilla and maple/brown suger. Fairly smooth going down with a nice tingle (I think it's around 94 proof . . .) I would say it's on par with (or slightly below IMO) Weller's or Black Maple Hills 8 yr.

Check out www.straightbourbon.com. They have some good reading, especially the forums.

Cheers! Nice to meet another bourbon drinker!

...Without a doubt, hands down one of my favorite drinks of all time! I first found out about it when I lived in Denver. My local wine store sold it (very hard to find up there). My wife and I have since relocated down to Southern New Mexico and what do you know... they sell it in the local Walgreen's! (the God's truly love me!!!)

TMFIII's description is spot on, at least in my opinion. I picked up similar flavors. Ridgemont is 93.7 proof and 8 yrs old, a good value vs. cost
