Hello,

I'm interested in picking on the brains of CT residents here on CA, or anybody that are either from the area or has visited the area.
The subject says it all - I'm looking for the best cigar shops here in CT. I have been amassing a collection of shops that I have gone to, but am wondering if anybody out there has any recommendations or opinions on shops they frequent.
Many thanks in advance if you reply to this post.
Questions/Comments are more than welcome, by the way.

I heard good things about The Owl Shop in New Haven.

I can personally recommend Cigar Factory Outlet in South Norwalk, by far the best group of guys around, owners and club members.

While The Owl Shop is certainly a cigar shop I think of it primarily as a cigar bar. Drinks (liquor, beer) and coffes are available and they have a very good selection of higher end cigars. Pricey as you would expect for a lounge but a very nice place to sit back and enjoy a cigar.

I enjoyed the Owl Shop a few month ago when I was in CT on business. The only downside is that parking in New Haven absolutly sucks, even though there is a pay garage right down the block. If I remember correctly, it's only 1 of 2 shops that you can smoke in as they were grandfathered against the new anti-smoking laws. It is a little pricey, but conveinence costs money.

Glad you liked the Owl Shop. I've not been in CT for long but I doubt the grandfathered business. I know of two other shops in the general vicinity where you can smoke a cigar andone of them relatively new.

They are allowed to serve drinks to the public, because they were grandfathered in.

Any other establishment is allowed to serve if they are a private club, and even then to their members only.

That is in CT.

Sorry, misunderstood. Didn't realize you all were saying that the liquor license was grandfathered.

My vote goes to Stogies on Main St in Naugatuck. Outstanding selection. dick the owner is very knowledgable. A few chairs to sit and enjopy your cigar. Well worth the drive.
