neither theyre both made of high fructose corn syrup and bad artificial flavors along with some carbonated water.

its highly disgusting period i used to drink them both but have recently sworn off soda(except on rare occasions) and drink only tea, water, juice,or milk though i sometimes drink powdered lemonade.

its a proven fact that coke can literally disolve a nail if left in a tightly sealed container within 2 weeks. and it works as a great drain unclogger

so i do mostly green tea now and water

also since i ditched soda its seems taht any time i try to drink one it tastes so disgusting i can only drink about 1/4 of it before i dump it out

Guess what smoking causes cancer, and it's a proven fact that the lit end of a cigar can be used to start a forest fire and will burn the inside of your mouth if you put it in the wrong way. I'm sorry you have such a strong distain for pop and its ill health effects, but please keep your selected self righteousness to yourself. Despite the fact that cigars are dangerous you continue to consume them, do you see the hypocrisy?

By the way it has and always will be Coke.

It's people like you AFSteve that disgust me, not sodas and their "evil" high fructose corn syrup.

Seriously your post really pissed me off, I'm not sure why, except it reminded me of everytime anyone had ever told me smoking was bad and some of the side effects of it.

What disturbs me is that you went out of your way to tell all of the people who obvioulsy like pop, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered to post Coke or Pepsi, that you find it disgusting. We've all read the chain email that describes the uses for Coke syrup and certain urban legends associated with the product, but thank you for once again reiterating something completely assanine. I'll bet you thought you were the only one that had ever heard those facts and you just had to share them with the world to show all of us how smart you truly are.

Well, you can do whatever you want AFSteve, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America.

I've always preferred Pepsi to Coke. It just tastes a little smoother to me. I know one of the ingrediants is the natural root Pepsin (like in Beeman's pepsin gum) which is a natural stomach relaxer.

wow sarc three posts in a row bashing me for sharing an opinion and saying a few things about why i personally dislike soda and then you say im badmouthing the US. never once did i badmouth the US in this thread and nor would i ever. I also say i dislike soda due to the fact that whenever i drink it it now never tastes the way it used to when i did. But, i will toss a mountain dew or 2 back every weekend. I just hate coke and pepsi since they just dont taste the same to me now. I guess you didnt read that part in my last post? and then you call me a hypocrit i ditched soda so i could get rid of caffeine headaches i had if i didnt drink like 3 sodas a day.

also sarc i never push my healthy views on anyone drinking soda as a matter of fact i dont care that people drink soda.I actually never even say anything to anyone who drinks soda in front of me. So i dont understand how youre bashing me and calling me self righteous. I wasnt forcing my views and going "hey stop drinking soda its gross" i did add the coke thing in because its actually something fun to do. Ive tried it and enjoyed watching a nail dissolve day by day.

AFSteve,
If you are prone to caffeine headaches then don't stop drinking Mountain Dews and green tea as both are loaded with caffeine. Mountain Dew definitely has more caffeine than Coke or Pepsi. Not sure about the comps on green tea, but it is a well publicized fact that green tea has plenty of caffeine although less than coffee.

Say what you like, drink what you like. Laissez-faire. Wink

BTW, If you yearn for a "coke of old" with real sugar, you may be able to find Coca-Cola bottled in Mexico in the international section of your grocer. It is still bottled (yes, a glass bottle) using real sugar in Mexico. It will be pricey as a 10 oz bottle will be $1.79 or so.

Since I am near Altanta and the Woodruffs gave so much to Altanta - it's Coke for me. I admit though that it's not like it used to be. I tend drink the diet versions now.

Is pepsin why Pepsi is called Pepsi?

I prefer coke but have seen the ail ting on Mythbusters and still drink it.

I also saw tomato sauce dissolve jail cell bars and still have pasta.

tea in general does have caffiene but also has natural sedatives in it which is why the buzz you get of tea is WAY different than that of coffee or soda. Green Tea also has tons of antioxidants that help the bodily system and its alot easier on my stomach(plus drinking only a glass a day has minimal effects on my head so i decided to stick with it.)

ive actually done better when i dont drink any soda and just do water my headaches are gone and ive only had 3 in the past month(thats not alot for me)

My best friend works for Coke, and my brother works for Pepsi. So it's Dr. Pepper for me!

Diet Pepsi with lots of ice does it for me. Until about the 5th or 6th one. Then I need to switch to caffeine-free Diet pepsi........

If you like the real glass bottles then you'd like my province of Canada. We only have glass here, no plastic or cans.

Pepsi for me. It does'nt seem as harsh as coke. Unless say the coke was to have some rum in it! But then of course you may be ruining some good rum.
