Will be spending about 10 days there starting in a week and a half... any insights into where to go to enjoy a good cigar (besides the golf courses I'll be hitting)? Any good retailers to check out?

Try Palm Desert Tobacco. I went there last year and they were very knowledgeable and had an excellent selection. They are on the main drag along the mountains. Where are you staying?

Originally posted by Don Charles: I tried to smoke a cigar at the casino several years ago and I was told to put it out. I thought casinos and cigars go together.
Which casino? If it was the "Spa" in downtown Palm Springs, I can see that happening. It is a very "happy group" in downtown PS...If you know what I mean. I usually go to Fantasy Springs, and I've never had an issue.

The local place to visit is the “Tinder Box” on South Palm Canyon right in the middle of anything that’s really going on in Palm Springs. Family owned by the Donovan’s, they always make you feel right at home. Whether adding a restaurant, shopping, or visiting the local street fair, definitely a good bet. The “Spa Casino” is just a couple of blocks East for other entertainment.
If dining Mexican, Los Casuelas right across the street provides both patio and an inner lower level with open windows for smoking, etc. We again tested the Partagas 160 in a group there a couple weeks back without comment. And the beer was cold.
