Knowing about the new ban, are there any cigar friendly bars, lounges, or restaurants left, either downtown, or in or around Naperville or Glenview?
Thanks, Bill

Might want to use the search function, this has been discussed in a few threads recently. But to sum it up...

Best Bets...

Downtown: Iwan Reis
Naperville: Bull and Bear
North Shore: Cigar King

There are exactly zero bars/restaurants that allow smoking of any kind. But the above mentioned shops all have nice lounge areas.

Add Jack Schwartz downtown in the loop, but only during the week from 9-5.

I was actually at Jack Shwartz yesterday after work. Nice shop, but only a couple chairs. It's in the Chicago Board of Trade, so rent is high and they really packed it in there. No room to relax and smoke. But if you're looking for high end accessories there is no better place in town.

Well there is 3 hotel floors open right now and as we turn over the floors they will progessivly open. But the building will not be toped out for another year. Expected time frame for total completion about 2-3 more years.

You know this really stinks. Last year i attended the Chicagoland Tobacciana and pipe show at the Pheasant Run Resort and it was a blast. The bar was packed every night and you had free run of the hotel to smoke in any room or location. Massive aircleaners were used throughout the hotel and even the people at the hotel who where not with the show did not complain about it. This year I am not going.. Smoking is so limited that they have to set up an outside tent for us to use as a smoking area and there is zero smoking within the hotel. What a loss of revenue for the hotel in food and drink alone. Same goes for the big smoke cancellation. revenue lost by these states passing these assinine smoking bans has to be incredibly large.

Hello all, there is a Cigar Shop in Schaumburg, IL. 60173 that still allows smoking in their shop with a plasma screen tv. You can purchase them there too at fair prices. The Shop/Lounge is called Habana Cigar shop !

Iwan Ries is open on Saturdays until 5pm. Beautiful spot on jewlers row in the loop. They have a small lounge right now, but are in the process of building a beautiful lounge/kitchen/conference room. I don't know when it's scheduled to be complete, but they gave me a sneek peek when I was there last weekend and it looks pretty good already.

They also mentioned that they'll likely extend their hours once the lounge is open.

Does anyone have an update on the Tribeca Cigar Company in Downers Grove? It's been quite some time since I've been there (late 2006). It was a nice place back then. Are they still open? If so, is the Saratoga Room (I believe that was the name) still open?
