What's up guys, I will be going on a 7 day Mexican Riviera Cuise in May on a Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. We will be stopping in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. I pretty much have plans to stop at the LCDH in Cabo. My question is to guys who have cruise experience is, do most cruise ships have smoking areas/lounges, and what is the overall attitude towards cigar smoking while on a cruise? And what can I expect from a cruise ship's casino? Thanks guys...

Expect action a bit slower than other casinos, since the dealers don't have quite the experience. Ship's casinos are sorta the farm teams for casino dealers, where they go to learn and practice. That's not to say they aren't competent ... they are. Odds offered or allowed won't be as generous at you're used to in Vegas or Atlantic City. Otherwise, you should enjoy yourself.

J murillo, The LCDH there is very cool. Up the street from there across from Cabo Wabo is Hemmingways Cigar Bar It is owned by the same person that own the lcdh,his name is Joes Cantu. Hemmingways has a nice walk in humidor and some killer Mojitos!!! If you have time stop in and say hi and have a drink and cigar you will be glad you did. Also on the marina near the boat dock is a place called Solomans Landing stop in there when you arrive in Cabo for some good people watching and reasonable drinks in a cigar friendly atmosphere. Anytime Bullriver I am the self knighted Cabo Expert in my family having been so many times I drove down in 1977 and have been there many times since I know a lot of people and have stayed in a tent and a 3 bedroom penthouse and everything in between any questions on cabo please send them my way Justin

Thanks for the info, you sound like a Cabo expert. Too bad the ship only ports for about ten hours. I'll be sure to stop by Soloman's Landing.

I was recently on the Norewegian Sun cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, Honduras and Belize.
The ship had the Havana Cigar Club, located on Deck 6; that accommodates 31. They had hand-rolled premium cigars available, cognacs and spirits at the Havana Club. This is one and only place where it is completely acceptable to light up in public.
There was also the Sun Club Casino, located on Deck 7 that accomodates approx. 300. The casino had Roulette, Blackjack, Craps, Caribbean Stud Poker® and Let It Ride® tables. The usual slot machines as well.
One dissapointment was that they did not allow cigars into the casino. Forgot that I was not in Las Vegas.
Other cruise lines have designated top deck areas to smoke cigars outside which can be painful with the blowing wind. Others where you can smoke in certain bar lounges after a specific time, usually after the dinner time is over.
I would recommend to research which cruise lines have their own cigar bar and lounge to really sit and relax with your suberb smoke.
Other cruise lines that have cigar places: Winston's Cigar bar - Carnival Connoisseur Club - Crystal Churchill's Cigar Lounge - Queen Mary 2 Chart Room, Crystal Bar, Golden Lion Pub - Queen Elizabeth 2 Connoisseur Club - Regent Seven Seas The Champagne Room - Siversea View restaurant - Saga Ruby upper level of Club Polaris - Saga Rose

Here's a noobs 2 cents. I really dig Puerto Vallarta. It's my favorite Mexican City. On the Malecon is La Bodeguita del Medio. It's a reputable business that sells authentic Cubans, Cuban rum, excellent Mojitos, live music and good food (at least I think so). Chill atmosphere with a nice view of the Malecon and the ocean. Worth a stop.

The cruise was great. It was my first cruise and it won't be my last. Make sure you stop by the LCDH in Cabo, I picked up a handfull of CC's for about $80, then headed over to Hemingway's for a smoke and a Mojito. Also there is cigar smoking in the library after 9:00 p.m. every night. Have a great trip and be sure to let us know how it went.
