It was my turn to host our regional meeting. I choose the Dalmahoy Golf and Country Club just outide of Edinburgh as the venue. I asked them to do a whisky tasting and this is what we had :

Littlemill - 46%
Macallan from Shiraz casks
Ardbeg - 10 year old

All of the above from the independant bottler, Murray McDavid.

I then treated them to a scaled-down Burns Night where I Addressed the Haggis and Toasted the Lassies.

I just wish I could remember more, but alas I made sure we had no empty glasses as we had paid for them all. Must be the calvin influence in me !!

How was the Macallan from Shiraz casks?

I havew tried others from the same maker in sherry and port casks but alas my palate is not refined enough.

I enjoy Talisker and Cardhu for my oreferences.
