I will be heading to Philadelphia in a few weeks and I was wondering, besides Holts, where else I should go to smoke a good cigar? I saw one place on Walnut Street that is supposedly a cigar bar. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also any hotel recommendations where they allow cigar smoking in their bar would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.

Mahogony, second floor over Holt's. Great food, beer & ambiance. Home of many Philly Herfs. I live here, so don't know anything about hotels.

Try the Ritz downtown. They have a room called the "Vault" Very nice smoking room. Drinks and smokes are every expensive so bring your own smokes and spend your $$$ on a drink. Very nice place with big leather chairs, bar and tv's.

There are a bunch of great hotels:

Park Hyatt At the Belleview -- right up Walnut from Holts and Mahogany. Has a Palm Steak downstairs and a Morton not too far. Great bar and restaurant on the top floor.

Westin Liberty Place -- Not too far from Holts and a nice hotel.

another shop to buy and smoke cigars...just outside the city in Haverford is Rebel Valley Cigars. When I lived there they had a decent selection along with pool table and lounge.

Thanks Mr. Fingers I am going to keep your suggestions in mind. I wasn't sure what places allowed cigars as the last time I was in Philadelphia I did not have cigars with me nor did I have time to go to Holt's

The Ritz is a Marriott property and they no longer allow smoking.

Nine more days till I get to Philly and Holt's! Man I can't wait! Maybe if I ask nicely Holts will let me put a cot in one of their humidors and I can just sleep there???? (just kidding of course....that would be heaven though)

Alright, a correction is in order.
In lieu of recent developments, the only place you'll be able to enjoy a cigar is at Holts and Mahogany's.
Stupid, stupid mayor for passing the smoking ban today!

GIMPY, one of their humidors? Aside from the front part of the store selling all the do-dads and accessories, the real part of the store is one huge humidor. You'll love it. It's like a supermarket with a few aisles of cigars.

Good thing I was making plans to go to Mahogany's and Holts as my cigar stops. What is this world coming to when you can't enjoy a good cigar anywhere!!!! Maybe one of the strip clubs is another place I can smoke??? Can someone fill me in please???

I don't think the strip club would allow it with the new law in place... Delilah's I hear is a good club to check out Wink also never buy anything from mahogany, bring something you bought from holt's earlier that day. they jack up the prices.

This is a bit off topic but with the new law and no smoking allowed in public places I assume...that's going to kill the strip club industry!
