does anyone else love this pinot grigio wine? i think it may be my favorite pinot.

It is funny that you mention that. I was talking about that stuff with my buddy who is in the wine business and he tells me it is one of the most popular pinot grigios but tastes nothing like any other pinot grigio. It is so well known that many people associate its flavor with what a real pinot grigio should taste like, even though it doesn't even closely resemble a true pinot grigio.

I have no idea if he is telling the truth or just being a wine snob. In the past he has never steered me wrong with wines before. I think it tastes pretty good but I have very limited experience with this kind of wine.

I say, drink what you like. If it tastes good to you that is all that matters..right?

he could be correct, im not a wine connisour. however it is called a pinot grigio, and i like pinot grigios, and that one is my favorite by far. i started drinking this before it was even popular.

pmp, your friend is correct, Santa Margarita is the United states' most popular pinot grigio. Unfortunatly it gives people a false idea of what pinot grigio is all about. Santa Margarita to me tastes overly watery with little fruit flavor. Try the Ruffino lumina, its another big name producer from italy but there is more crispness and flavor. If you would be interested in trying a pinot grigio from france the best are made in Alsace where its called pinot gris.
Of course wine is like cigars, its all about what you like and think tastes good.

I'm such a wine connoisseur that when I saw this title I thought it referred to a Christmas-time tequila drink!
