So, I'm spending the coming weekend in Montreal. Tell me where I should get good drinks, get good eats, and the MUST SEES of the city.

Well, there's quite a lot, it depends who you are and what you like...

A quick questionnaire :
How old are you?
(From Winnipeg ?)
What's a good drink and good food for you?
Do you speak a bit of French?

one thing you should see is the Cuban Art exhibit (on untill June 18th) at the Montreal Contemporary art meuseum..

this place is right across the LCDH and walking distance to Stogies...

so after absorbing Cuban art, you can walk acrosss the street, and absorb cuban smoke Wink

also,.... if you want to eat a real steak, then you have to go to either Queue de Cheval or the Rib'n Reef.

both are excellent steakhouses.. world renown.. and both have cigar lounges as well....

Then, for fine dining, the Europea, in downtown Montreal, would be the place for you. (Make reservations)

They have a website : http://www.europea.ca/eng/index.html

The "Menu dégustation 9 services" is astounding :

-Lobster cream Cappuccino, truffle oil.

-Princess scallops, prepared on the shell with morel mushroom milk, tartar of king salmon gravelax, sea water emulsion.

-Duo of pan seared and torchon foie gras.

-Light CO2 foam prepared with César Salad.

-U10 scallop and lobster with Jerusalem artichoke, coriander salad and truffle carpaccio.

-Quebec cheese served with an onion soup.

-Chocolate ravioli, suzette caramel and orange zest.

-White chocolate parfait, passion fruits mousse, crispy nougatine biscuit.

-Mignardises

-Wine Pairing/ A selection of 4 glasses of wine $55

For Drinks, with cigar : Stogies... You already know that...

Without cigars : try the Jell-O Bar on Ontario street, near St-Laurent. Cool place.

Does anyone know anything about a place called Bily Kun? I checked out their site, and it looked cool, but I don't know how it actually is.

There's an amusement park, a botanical garden, an insectarium, a biodome, some big churches, and old part of the city called old Montreal (vieux Montréal)

The underground city goes from sherbrooke steet to notre dame. It is a hallway lined with stores that goes from building to building. There is one aroumd McGill College and another near Place Des Arts.
Brouse in here to find theUnderground city map It's a good place in winter; in summer the streets are nicer.

The look outs on the mountain are nice. There are three.

I've heard it's a nice bar with good jazz shows... Haven't been there, but Mont-Royal avenue is indeed a cool, trendy sector of Montreal. Nice boutiques too... You might have to use your French a bit in that sector (much less anglo than downtown) -- though it shouldn't be too much of a problem to be understood...
