There won't be a problem with the smokes. However, I wouldn't plan on taking either a clipper or lighter on board. You'll have to place those in your checked luggage. Better still, wait until you get to Vegas and start your partying, everywhere you go they'll be someone there with both items.

I've never had problems traveling with cigars in the US. I've also always included my cigar cutters in my carry on and never had an issue with them. I've had a problem with lighters a few times but most of the time I was traveling with a really cheap lighter so I just let them keep it. I'd never travel with a lighter unless I had one of those special lighter packs but I haven't broken down and bought one of those yet.

NO lighters in cheched luggage either : they'll open your suitcase and confiscate them!

Cutters are OK. If you go to the TSA's website, they are explicitly on the "permitted" list. I take a well-made plastic one that ran about $10 and leave the Xikar at home.

I did have a new TSA agent in Fort Lauderdale give my travel humidor a super-close inspection and wipe down looking for explosives in March.

But that was the first time in five years that had happened, and I travel a lot.

Lighters are not permitted except in TSA-approved containers. I recommend picking up some good wooden matches or buying a disposable in Nevada.

For the sake of those in line behind you, don't try to sneak it on.

I was paged by TSA prior to boarding once. The beef? I had my cigar lighter in my checked bags. They insisted that I take it on the plane with me! OK, fine so I got to keep my lighter, but don't you think it would be safer in the bag. They basically let me on the plane with a mini torch, but no finger nail clippers. Go figure.

You can carry your cutter on the carry on. You can also carry 3 books of non strike-anywhere matches in your carry-on as well. You can put the cigars in carry-on or check them. I just got back from a trip so that's why I'm so familiar with these things.

I just like cigars, is that ok?

...Glad I stumbled across this thread before I got on a flight. I have a travel humidor and lighter that I plan on packing in my checked luggage. Do you really think that I should check my stogies and travel humidor though?

You can take your stogies (and travel humidor) in your carry-on. The worst that may happen is that they'll verify the contents of your bag.
