I recently posted something to another cigar forum asking for information about cigar oriented restaurants and bars in Europe. Sadly, I have been to only one "cigar bar" there - the excellent Tynska Bar & Books in Prague.
Anyone care to share their experience with/knowledge of any other cigar oriented places in Europe?

On my last trip to France (three years ago) I fondly recall being asked if we would like to take our coffee in another room (like a living room or reception room) at most restaurants. Invariably, I pulled out a cigar to accompany my coffee and after-dinner libation, and I never even got a dirty look from the other patrons. Fact is, several other dinner guests were enjoying cigars as well. That's what I call civilized!

My wife and I spent a week in Belgium and Holland back in November; smoked the whole time and never caused an eyelash to even flutter.
One thing I noticed about people I encountered in Europe: They're less interested in being your nanny than simply coexisting. Everyone does their own thing and they aren't as uptight as folks here.
Another thing I noticed: You can sit at a pub in London, a café in Brussels or a brown café in Holland all night and nobody will ask you what you do for a living. You know why?? They don't care! As Americans, we define ourselves by what we do. Elsewhere in the world, people define themselves more personally.
Don't mean to seem like a self-loathing American...just an observation.

Agreed. Patriot though I am, I do appreciate the lack of nannyism there. Even in Italy, where there is a total smoking ban, their definition of "outdoors" is generously fluid. And, of course, so obnoxious simps coughing or waving their hands in front of their faces when you light up.
Mmmm... Maybe it's time for another trip to Vienna.

There are quite a few nice places here - Arthur's, Le Stereohpile, Caviar House are all very cigar friendly. The anti-smoking laws are changing all over, though, and it may just be a matter of time...

I was in Tallinn, Estonia, last November. GREAT cigar friendly place. There is a cigar bar/shop right next to the "Ice Bar" (vodka) and another great place for a smoke is "Scotland Yard". Have a scotch and a nice Cuban, along with a great smked fish plate! Great atmosphere in the whole town! Could not find any Kentucky bourbon, but Jack Daniels a-plenty!

Just got back from a trip to France's Bordeaux and Provence regions. I didn't really find any "cigar bars", probably because there really aren't any restrictions in bars or restaurants. Anytime I extended the courtesy to those at neighboring tables of asking if they minded if I smoked, they laughed at me. I visited small towns during this trip, but in past trips to Paris, some restaurants offered a humidor to select from, but the cigars were merely part of the menu as a diguestif, and not the theme of the restaurant.
