I'm from Los Angeles originally, and I fondly remember Langer's and Canter's, especially the pastrami at Langer's. In NYC I've had a full porterhouse steak like I've never seen or tasted before, and matzah ball soup that could cure a cold or a hangover....and so, sometimes I'm in the mood for a potato pancake, a kosher dog, a real pickle, and of course, superb pastrami, so if I'm travelling, where can I find a fantastic Jewish Deli?

I've been to Katz's and Carnegie's, good choices, but what if I'm in Houston, or Philly? DC or San Diego? I'm looking for the best Jewish Delis, everywhere.

Can't help you there.
In Philly I would opt for a cheessteak. I prefer Jim's. However Pat's has great Pizza Fries (fries covered with their cheesesteak cheese and marinara).

Katz's and 2nd avenue. Carnegie is good for the cheesecake, but the pastrami is more about quantity than quality.

I have 2, one is local to me, Stage Deli in Bloomfield Hills, MI and the other is one that I used to go to as a kid visiting family in the Chicago area, Kaufman's in Skokie.
