Try making your own from a readily available commercial source.
I start off with "Sweet Baby Ray's" and add worchestire sauce, hot yellow Chinese mustard powder, and, surprisingly, Catalina salad dressing.
Of course, the percent of ingredients is never quite the same from batch-to-batch, but this has worked well for me for years.

zpmark, try making your own from scratch. It's rather easy. If you would like, send me an email and I'll send you a few basic recipies to start with.

I've been hankering to do a cider vinager, molases and tomato paste reduction as a base Smile

Kansas City bar-b-que is world famous , & Gates & Sons has one of the tastiest sauces. You can order it on-line http://www.gatesbbq.com I prefer the "original", but they have other varieties available also. Put the baby-back ribs on the Weber, add some Gates, (grab an ice-cold Brewski)= HEAVEN-0N-EARTH!

Rascus, sure, I havent' sent him any yet. I'm glad that he's being patient with me. Only time I seem to have to post anything is when I'm at work. <like right now>

Here in Jacksonville, there is a radio guy with a sauce thats actually really good. It's called Cole Pepper's Blackjack BBQ Sauce. A local restaurant makes it I think. I haven't seen it anywhere outside of Jacksonville other than at a Firehouse Subs in Melbourne, but its the best I've had.

Mmmmmm, meat.

I stopped buying BBQ sauce a long time ago. It's really easy to make, and really hard to screw up. I've tried alot of gourmet brands from steakhouses around NYC, and I always ended up adding things to them so I just decided to make my own.
