I’m over in Iraq and was sent some decent coffee. Problem is no grinder and finding an electrical power supply that is stable and doesn’t burn things out is problematic in my current location.

Therefore I am looking for a relatively small hand operated coffee grinder, preferably not too expensive.

I would think anything cheap would work as long as it grinds. I am not familar with many hand grinders.

Do a search on ebay. At the moment (5-22 at 11am est) there are 3 from $1.49 to $25. They should do the trick!

In the interest of field expedience try a pepper mill. I carry one in my pack and use it for everything. Cuts down on weight, too.

Oh, don't forget to clean it out between use, but first make sure it's unloaded.

Lee Valley carries the hardware to make a coffee grinder. Although it is designed to be mounted on a decorative wooden box with drawer, I see no reason that you couldn't just put it on top of a can and grind away.
