hello all. I am new to this site and new to the love of cigars (but I learning fast, especially where padrons are concerned). Really like cigars but I am also learning use them for the purpose of business networking. Can anyone give me any recommendations as to cigar lounges and/or bars in northern new jersey and in Manhattan that are upscale and overall good places for business networking. I am a business law attorney looking to meet same as well as other pros in the financial world. I did a search online and came up pretty dry and this site only allows me to check which resturants are cigar friendly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

JR Cigar in Whippany (Rt 10) has a nice bar that seats about 20, high tables, and a dining room for about 50. The bar is open until about 11:00 on Friday and has a good draw of people. New place in the Newport area of Jersey City (Azucar) is also nice I'm told (Haven't been there yet)

Or in case you don't want to search, there are a few spectacular places in Manhattan.

cigar bars:
Club Macanudo
Lexington Bar & Books
Hudson Bar & Books
Carnegie Club

cigar "lounges":
Nat Sherman
Velvet Cigar Lounge (has a bar)

restaurants:
Florio's (Little Italy)
(The owner simply persists in allowing smoking even though he doesn't qualify for an exemption. The atmosphere is, uh, casual for those of us whose last name isn't Gambino.)

Don't know. I think there's a place in Englewood, but that's Bergen county.

The Cigar Den on Rte 18 South in New Brunswick is a few miles south of the junction with Rte 1. Good selection, okay prices, smoking lounge, but no food (coffee and soda only).

There is another cigar shop that I pass on the way there (Don something or other) but the prices are so-so, and it isn't the type of place I'd hang at.

Gimpy,
The place sungunner is thinking of is Don Francisco Cigars. The owner, Lew, rolls his own brand on site. Decent lounge with 2 couches, many chairs, 2 tables (1 can be used for poker or bumper pool), online computer, and 3 tv's. He hosts a monthly herf. The next one is on 12/16.

295 B Route 18
Colchester Plaza @ Tices Lane
East Brunswick, NJ 08816
