The wife and I spent a wonderfull weekend at Niagara-on-the-lake Ontario Canada for our 7th anniversery. We stayed at the Piller and Post. For those who have never been, it is a beautifull sort of Victorian style village town. It is in the heart of Ontario's wine country. I just want to share Saturdays experience of food, drink and smoke.
Saturday morning started with breakfast in bed. English muffins, fresh fruit, fresh pastries and the best coffee I had in years. At 11:00 am we had an 85 minute message followed by a 20 minute soak in a hot spring with a hot water falls. Then it was off to town for gift shopping. I bought my wife perfume and she bought me a Cuban Monte Cristo Edmondo and a bottle of Havana Club Anejo Reserva Cuban Rum. After lunch there was a swim in the salt water pool and up to the room for some alone together time. At 6:00pm we went for dinner at the Hotel restraunt. Dinner was Crab cakes for appatizer and rack of lamb for dinner followed by strawberry cheese cake. The bomb dinner it was. We went down to the patio where I poured a glass of the Cuban Rum and lit the Edmundo. First the Rum. It is the best. You can smell and taste the cane sugar and flowery clove. Smooth as silk. The cigar was a master piece. Chocolate and woodsy ceeder with a lite coffe bean burst. Man oh man, Cuban Rum and a Cuban cigar after a great dinner? As good as it gets.
The reason I write this is we are middle income people who enjoy the good life now and then. I encourage others to do the same.
Blessed day to you all, Mike.

What kind of message took 85 minutes? Sunday morning sermons don't last that long.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Too bad you didn't have a chance to go to Ontario before June, when they banned smoking everywhere, even in tobacco shops and on patios that have food/drink service and awnings.

Glad you had a great time.

I am getting married in less than a month. I hope to spend many annivesaries the way you have; fine woman, fine drink, and a fine smoke! Can't ask for much more in life, can you?

I will be travelling to Buffalo next month for a conference. How far is Niagra Falls? Any suggestions on cigar friendly establishments there?

Hey saxon9075.
I live in Buffalo and a Suburb here, Williamsville, has a great Tinder box cigar shop. I go there everyday to smoke in the lounge. Great people, great selection.
Niagara Falls Canada is 20 minutes from the Buffalo border. Niagara on the lake is about 15 minutes or so from there.
I'll be happy to direct you to these places.

I live about 2 hours from Niagara reigon, on the Canadian side.

There are some silly restrictions on smoking, but you can get around them as long as the barkeep is cool/inattentive. One of the best times I had was walking around downtown Niagara on the Lake with my wife, smoking a Cohiba Siglo III.

not to be forgotten when in Niagara is the WINE. some of the best wine this side of the Atlantic is bred there. If you get a chance, tour some of the wineries. When I was there, I lit up with a couple of the vintners, toured their yards and learned a great deal about the amazing craft.

If you're looking for a place to stay, try Addison's. She has a few little cottages/guest rooms that are great and amazingly inexpensive.

when the boss said 'smoke em if you got em', he didn't expect me to take 45 minutes to burn out a monte
