what kind of beer?. I have a couple of heinekens in the fridge

Heineken is a staple here at my place, but only in cans! Smile Great with seafood, too.

But my favorite lager in the world was "EB" from Poland, pronounced "Eh Beh" - no longer produced, at least under that name. So good. Also, Żywiec is great.

i would have to say...
starter would be dungeness crab cakes with a homemade roasted red pepper pesto drizzled with a balsamic reduction.

main:
Prime rib steaks with a nice hunk of blue cheese melted on top, garlic mashed potatoes, and salad with a white balsamic vinegrette.

a big bottle of J Lohr merlot....

topped off with a chocolate chunk brownie warmed to perfection with a healthy portion of vanilla ice creme.

Than to the balcony for a fine cuban out of the humidor.

Yum, except I prefer pure butter instead of the blue cheese. But, yum. Big Grin

A nice piece of baked bread to begin with sweet butter. Then a plate of Caesar salade. Then a nice piece of New York Strip medium rare with garlic butter and little bit of black pepper. Side of steak fries with fresh boiled vegetables. Then a nice New York style cheesecake to finish it all. And of course a nice glass of red wine to accompany the meal. Smile

I enjoy cooking and when my kids were small I would make my special burgers which were basiclly a mixture of ground beef with ground onion, bread crumbs an egg and some tomato paste, grilled
up plump and jucy.

My favorite these days is Steak al la Pizziola, Fry up some onions and garlic until just translucent, Place the steak into the pan and sear on both sides placing onions on top of the steak.

When dont to medium rare add tomato sauce, oregano, basil and crushed red pepper and cook covered for about another minute until the sauce is warm.

Serve with pasta and a couple of cold Bass ales or a bottle of Chianti

It's a toss-up for me.. The 2 best meals I have ever made were on the grill (and skillfully perfected while enjoying stogies).

The first one would be medium rare Filets from whole foods, with a sweet maytag bleu cheese sauce. The side was grilled asparagus

the second is a rack of ribs that I cook in spices and submerged in Sam Adams Cherry wheat beer for 2 hours. Then I sear them on the grill, then add the sauce (sweet baby rays with some added spices, and a touch of habanero), and caramelize it. These things are amazing.

There is something about grilling with a good beer and a good cigar that is pure Man-Heaven.

I have to favorite meals
1-Rare Filet that i have coated with a light coat of olive oil and a little sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Followed with a nice big oven baked potato that is also coated with salt. (not the best of meals for the heart)

2-FRESH yellowfin tuna again lightly covered in olive oil and coated with fresh ground black pepper and seasame seeds. Just seared on either side and VERY VERY rare in the middle.
With this dish the Admiral(Wife) will sautee' some aspparagus with a little seasoning and wine.

Both meals finish up very well with my beautiful bride of 23 years on the deck with and me enjoing a Romeo Y Julietia Clemencus
