in order, my favorites with a cigar:

1- water (sorry, but it does help with a cigar I haven't had before so I can decide what to drink next)
2- Coca Cola
3- rum (whatever I have on hand, just last month I finished the bottle bottle the resort gave us on our honeymoon, where everything tastes better)
4- as above, Chimay Blue label (though I like all three Chimay that I've had)
5/6- tie, Maker's Mark and Stella Artois
7- gin and tonic (my preference is for Bombay Sapphire)
8- Guiness, which is good with, well, everything

Normally, scotch: of single malts - Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie;
of blends - Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker Black label.
If you ever get hold of one, try some Armenian brandy - e.g. the Ararat brand. Goes quite well with many cigars.

Cognac - Pierre Ferrand Reserve or Remy VSOP or XO. I also like a Calvados on occasion.

I've tried a new cognac PASQUINET XO.
It's exellent and it's my new favorite. I like it better than the most known 3 XOs.

Is that the 15 or 25 year PASQUINET XO? I have noticed this cognac at my local purveyor - probably going to buy one or the other based on your suggestion.

Generally, I drink Glenmorangie with my cigars, but I have from time to time switched off and had Chimey Blue, Celebrator (dopplebock), Calvados, and Paulaner Hefe Weissen. And in the mornings on the weekend with a milder cigar, I have a kona or french roast coffee.

Depending on the time of day and the company, I'll drink water, coffee, an old tawny port or JW Gold.

Every now & then, though, a gin & tonic or good martini just seems to work...

Yesterday I had a Smithwicks Ale and a Perdomo Habana at Mohegan Sun Casino Waterfall bar.

About the last place in CT you can drink and have a cigar indoors.

I normally drink beers exclusively, but I just bought my first bottle of Woodford Reserve and it is fantastic.

Growing up (or what passed for growing up when I was 18 and legal) I drank bourbon's alomost exclusively with my dad, IW Harper and Wild Turkey. Now in my late 40's I developed a taste for scotch, Famous Grouse for everyday, single malts for special occasions.

Picked up a bottle of Havana Club 7 year for Turkey Day. Not Bad. I also like The Captain's Private Stock and Bacardi Superior. Waiting for a sale to try the Jack Daniels Single Barrel.

I've been drinking Port lately. Right now I'm into a bottle of Cockburns fine tawny. A bit more crisp than I like but very good none the less.

I agree sheep, the Makers Mark is perfect with a cigar. My supply is running low though, I may have to make another trip "south" soon.

Nothing wrong with a strong coffee at all. Actually in the morning it's perfect, imho.
